Playboyz by Martin Sharry | Dublin Theatre Festival 2017 @The New Theatre

Playboyz is about Irishness. Playboyz is about Asylum Seeking. Patrick wants to live and work in Ireland but he is African. His survival depends on the imagination of the locals. And since it is St.Patrick’s Day ‘things will get messy’. The drama subsides and something more surreal appears. The author’s relationship with his father demands attention. This play is true to the traumatic and the craic at the same time. It is a wild re-imagining of The Playboy of the Western World.
