Michelle Cahill is an associate member of The Laban Guild
I graduated from Trinity Laban in 1999. As a student I learned and studied Laban’s Choreutic studies and Labanotation, a systematized way of recording movement. When I returned to Ireland I completed a Dance Leadership Course certified by the Laban Guild in 2004. The course gave me vital tools and universal language for teaching dance to all levels, all ages, and for people who want to experience high quality, creative movement outside of conservatoire training.
As an Associate of the Laban Guild I teach and assess students on certified Laban Guild Dance Leadership Courses in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Courses have run in Maynooth (2011) and Newbridge (2013) in association with the amazing team at Kildare Arts Office, and in Lisburn (2015, 2016), Northern Ireland. I have also facilitated a Laban-based Foundation Course for adults in Portlaoise in association with Laois Sports Partnership and Dance Ireland. and assist Dr Anna Carlisle in Laban-based Continuous Professional Development courses fr dancers, choreographers and teachers.
